Reserved - Museum Series: Amarna Princess
Museums connect us to our past. Curators set up timelines and tell stories through artifacts, objects, and art of a time long gone. They provide us with a sense of community and belonging by promoting past human experiences and our collective cultural heritage.
I spent five weeks in Cairo this summer. To escape the heat I mostly visited museums and took pictures of anything I was allowed to photograph.
So in love with this Amarna princess that I found at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
She is possibly one of the six daughters of Akhenaton and Nefertiti, and Tutankhamen’s sister. The elongated skull is characteristic of Amarna style art which dates back to the 13th century BC.
She is set in a sterling silver prong setting adorned with a turquoise, variscite, and glowy carnelian (set in 14k gold) collar.
30” clasp free sterling silver chain.
One of a kind.
