Shearin grew up in a house with a mother who was an art teacher, and that provided ample space for exploration and creative self-expression. She has worked with multiple mediums, but it was a metals class that she took at the Irvine Fine Arts Center in 2010 that lured her into the world of metalsmithing. Vitreous enamel soon became her true passion, as she is inspired by its opulent and vibrant nature. Her work includes multiple enamel techniques and explores elements found in her surroundings and personal experiences.
